We Started Small We had a very humble beginning. Back in 2008 we streamed a high school soccer tournament using a home webcam duct-taped to a tripod. We didn't announce the game, we were too chicken. And we'd write the score on a clip board and hold it in front of the camera. How primitive can you get?
Since then we have upgraded our broadcasting gear and have begun to broadcast events that would be overlooked by traditional broadcasting companies. Adding VidBlaster, a video switching software program, was a great addition as it allows us to use multiple cameras, show instant replays, play videos & music, scoreboards, chroma-key, and much more.
And Grew In early 2009 we broadcast a junior varsity soccer tournament to a small audience of several hundred followed by a regional high school soccer tournament to over 7,000 international viewers. We even tried internet radio when we broadcast the quarter-finals of the Alabama High School Soccer Playoffs. All in all, total of 57 events in the spring of 2009.
Later in 2009 we broadcast the Flora Bama Soccer Showcase from Orange Beach, Alabama, and the Florida Capitol Soccer Invitational from Tallahassee, Florida to a combined audience of over 25,000. Since then we have broadcast over 100 soccer matches to live, PPV and/or on-demand viewers.
And Grew Some More In the spring of 2011 we started Talking Soccer TV, a weekly talk show featuring interviews with college coaches and a round table discussion of local soccer with some of our favorite local high school coaches. Some great local businesses helped by sponsoring the show.
And Began to Help Others Beginning in 2009 we became authorized resellers for the VidBlaster video switching software that we use. We have helped individuals, schools, governmental agencies, non-profit organizations and budding broadcasting companies discover the power of internet broadcasting. More information here.
We will continue to broadcast high school sporting events in Southern Alabama as our core strength and are exploring opportunities to provide live internet TV streams of other events.
Based on our experiences in broadcasting, we are in the process of designing a small but powerful Windows-based PC with all of the features needed to produce an excellent internet broadcast right out of the box. Curious? Drop us a line here.
